BUDDY HOLLEY--WESTERN MOVIES- STOOGE CONTEST

RED SOX FAN OF THE DAY: Alex John Cox of Manti has totally decorated his room in Red Sox decor. His favorite crimson hose bopper is Big Papi. Alex loves to play baseball, ski, karate, fish, hunt with his dad, and snuggle in his new Red Sox blanket.

Martha Stewart says, "I could eat mutton and sour dough bread seven days a week."

"THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED"
Fifty years ago today, an airplane carrying these three rock and roll legends crashed at Clear Lake, Iowa killing all aboard. I was twelve years old and still remember it vividly.

Jack Elam

L. Q. Jones

John Ireland
Pictured above are Voo's four favorite western "bad guys." Who can forget hired gun, Wilson, in the movie, Shane, as portrayed by Jack Palance. You could send me your favorites, but no one ever responds anyway.

Ben Johnson
Ben Johnson is Voo's all time favorite cowboy actor. He was a real COWBOY who looked, talked and acted the part. Besides his many westerns, he won an academy award for his role in The Last Picture Show.

Ten of Voo's Favorite Western Movies in no particular order:
Shane
Ride The High Country
One-eyed Jacks
Children of the Dust
Winchester 73

Duel In The Sun
The Big Country
Unforgiven
The Big Sky
High Plains Drifter
The Wild Bunch
The Searchers
The Outlaw, Josey Wells
She Wore A Yellow Ribbon

FLY OF THE WEEK
Silver Doctor
This is a famous streamer, used by my dad, Perry, exclusively at Fish Lake during the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.

Barbra

Liza

Jane

ATTENTION, ATTENTION, ATTENTION!!!
The Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, Jane Fonda Film Festival to be held in Manti, on Feb. 29th has been cancelled due to zero ticket sales and the fact that Manti closed it's movie theatre in 1961.

KNOT OF THE DAY
The Sheepshank

This knot is commonly used to make your rope shorter. Not to be used by the Wolf. His rope is already too short.

MEET THE FAMILY
This is my other sister, Joanne. She lives in Orem. She is vivacious, funny, and writes a great poem. Her cooking rivals Aunt Bea's. Her golf game may not rival Tiger Woods' but she strikes fear in the Riverside Women's League. She likes to play Bridge, go to the ballet, and don't try to plan your wedding around the Shakespeare Festival. No party is a party without Joanne.

PATRIOTIC PHOTO OF THE DAY
This photo is of the American Legion Veterans at the Manti City Cemetery on Memorial Day.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Most of our imports come from outside the country."
George W. Bush

Time to call it a day. Stay tuned for the next edition. More fun to come.

Why does your sister Joanne get sooooo much attention. She's not that great. What about her lousy pancakes? Shakespeare! That's a laugh. She goes to Cedar City on the way to Las Vegas. Men and booze. That's Joanne.

Also-- I think Children of the Dust should be first on the list.

Thanks for another killer post, Voo. This is a real education. I run to my computer every day. We have pictures of the crash site--about 100 yards into a cornfield just outside of Clear Lake. We can send 'em, but they need to be scanned. Not on digital. Don't you have a poster for the rave they played just before the crash though? Great post. We have lots of movies to catch up on. In judging stooges, head hardness has to be a key factor, right? On that account, it might be a toss up between Moe and Marconi.

Brother Voo...
Love your blog, especially all of the useless information, the kind of info my family can understand!
Am upset about the photo's of Joyce. Daddy paid some sleazeball, going through Manti, a lot of money just to keep those pictures away from the press. He told her he could make her famous, she just had to look natural. Wait, she is famous..I'm a little slow..
Feel bad that you haven't found the real photo's of me, but I am sure Joyce couldn't handle the comparisons.
I am guessing you no longer have a job, but writing on your blog has got to be a heck of a lot more fun than selling stuff.
Keep posting, as many people are learning!
