MOVIE POSTER OF THE WEEK
The Thing From Another World 1951

BLOG BONUS FEATURE
For those of you who have never been to the Grand Canyon --- here is a photo.
Now you don't have to go! It's hot, crowded and miserable.

NOSE ART
IN WWII, NOSE ART WAS POPULAR ON U.S. COMBAT PLANES
HERE ARE SOME OF VOO'S FAVORITES

Note of Interest: Voo has been in the above plane. He attended an airshow with Kristeen and Robyn around 1980 and took a tour of this plane. It is a B-17 bomber called the "Flying Fortress." Out of thousands that were built, it is one a few that still flies. It can be seen at air shows across the nation.

VOO'S FAVORITE

FIVE FAMOUS MOVIES THAT VOO HAS NEVER SEEN AND NEVER WILL SEE

Sound of Music
Mary Poppins
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
Harry Potter
Oklahoma
South Pacific

RED SOX LEGEND OF THE WEEK
Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd
He was a highly effective and eccentric pitcher for the Sox during the 1980s. He was known for his hot temper and fondness for canned beer, which he called "oil cans." His name sake lives in Ephraim, UT

MEXICAN BANDIT OF THE WEEK
Poncho Villa

STUFFED HORSE OF THE WEEK
Trigger

RODENT OF THE WEEK
The Flying Squirrel

FLY OF THE WEEK
The Adams
Great fly for high mountain lakes. When fish are rising, even a mediocre fly fisherman like Curt Wankier could catch trout using The Adams.

KNOT OF THE WEEK
The Tautline Hitch
This knot is used often when securing your horse to a tree. It is also a very popular knot used by Tom and Polly when it's " bondage night."

MEET THE FAMILY, AGAIN
I have had many requests to show more photos of my sister, Joyce. Just about all of the requests have come from my sister, Joyce. The photo above was taken of Joyce at her high school graduation.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Cross country skiing is great if you live in a small country.

I'm speechless...I don't even know how to respond to such a fascinating post. I mean really..."Stuffed Horse of the Week", "Rodent of the Week". What's next? I can't believe I'm your offspring. Not that I ashamed to be your offspring but you would think I could understand that mind of yours just a little bit -- but I can't. You are a marvel Voo!
I loved the Nose Art pictures. They are really cool!
When Maia comes to Utah this month she wants to have a Sound of Music marathon. Oh and Madison really wants to watch "Annie" the musical with you too. You will do anything for your grandkids, right??

Dearest Voo-

Thank you for teaching us all about knots. Please don't ever stop. The little sidenotes about the knots make them more memorable than any of the many texts on knot-tying I have ever tried to learn from. I think I'll really remember the tautline hitch this time, now that I have such an image to associate it with. You are The Man with the mneumonic devices. Love the new rodent feature too! Is that the flying squirrel's natural habitat?
