BIG DADDY DAYS IN MANTI

June 4, 5, and 6.

Tribute to artist, car designing genius, and former Manti resident Ed "Big Daddy' Roth.

1932 -- 2001

The Rat Fink Reunion is held every year in Manti during the first week of June.
This year there were many new events included in the three days of the reunion.. There is a fabulous museum and gift shop located at the home of Mrs. Big Daddy, Ilene Roth. A classic car show at the Manti City park and a parade down Manti's main street drew crowds from all across the country. I had to leave town early on Saturday, but still managed to capture a few the the classic cars on film before my departure.

CLASSIC CAR CUTIES

Spike is enjoying himself while posing between car collecting sisters, Tammy Moore and Korry Kirkham.

Korry owns several classics including this 1949 Chev.

Korry is the manager of the famous Manti landmark, Candies On Main. Her 49 Chev is the official pace car for the Candies On Main 500 which is held every year at the Manti City Fairgrounds Race Track. Don't miss it.

Ranger Bob's receipe for Marconi and cheese:

1. Buy a box of Kraft Macoroni and cheese.

2. Read the instructions on the back of the box, or have someone read the instructions to you.

3. Follow instructions.

4. Enjoy meal.

This is a great outdoor delicacy that never fails to please. With a little practice, you, too, can become an expert at cooking macaroni and cheese.

Fantastic book about the father of the atomic bomb. If you are a slow reader like Marconi, or have trouble with big words like The Shredder, this might not be the book for you. It is one of my favorite historical biographies. When I got into it, I couldn't put it down.

MONEY MAKING IDEA OF THE WEEK


This week's money maker came from my nephew- in- law Mike Stabile who is married to my niece, Jill, and lives in Berkeley, CA. Mike is a plumbing contractor and is known in our family as Mike The Plumber, Joe the Plumber, or Stainless Steel Stabile.

Not long ago, Mike decided to turn the wasted space in his attic into some ready cash. With a little help from his carpenter buddies he quickly and efficiently turned his attic into a parking garage. So far, everything has worked perfectly and the extra cash has come in real handy.
