Today we are going to talk a little bit about the Boston Red Sox. Some readers of this blog, if there really are any, might wonder why someone in the middle of rural Utah would have a life- long addiction to following the east coast Red Sox. When I was young and became a Sox fan they weren't a very good team and I was probably the only Sox fan in the entire state of Utah. Now there is a Red Sox Nation with thousands of fans residing in Utah. There are many Red Sox fans in my hometown of Manti. One big reason for this phenomenom is the fact that citizens of Manti have long considered Boston a twin sister city. The similarities between these two cities are amazing. For example:
Boston has over 300,000 people ------ Manti has over 3,000 people
Boston has the Kennedy Library ------ Manti has the Public Library
Boston has the Freedom Trail ----------Manti has the Sheep Trail
Boston has Faneuil Hall---==-----------Manti has a Juvenile Hall
Boston has the original home of Paul Revere ----- Manti has a home owned by a guy named Paul
Boston has great bars like the Cask n Flagon ----- Manti has a convenience store where you can buy a six pack of beer.
Boston has great restaurants like the Union Oyster House where you can get delicious seafood ------
Manti has Fred's Fast Food Sports Grill where you can get a deep fried fishburger
Boston has Fenway Park ------ Manti has high school kids who like to park.
On the 4th of July Boston enjoys the Boston Pops conducted by a guy named Keith Lockhart ----
On the 4th of July Manti enjoys a parade down main street lead by a guy on a unicycle
named Keith Franchetti
B
oston has the Old North Church ---- Manti has the Old North Ward Church

The similarities go on and on. It is actually quite eerie. As proof of the loyalty and devotion that many of the Manti citizens show towards Boston and their beloved Red Sox, I am exhibiting some photos of local fans. One of these photos was featured on the Boston Globe website.

The Red Sox will shine in Two thousand and nine!

Dearest Voo-

I am very proud to be the very first and, so far, the ONLY official "follower" of your website. Does this mean I get to drink some magic Kool Aid? Please send it soon.

Seriously, I'm very excited about this blog. You more than anyone in the WORLD should be writing a blog. You might ask, "Why?" The answer is this simple: It obviously will take one HELL of lot more than just a village to try to figure out how your sick mind works. By keeping up this blog, and posting your own twisted and unmistakable brand of insanity for the whole world to experience, maybe there can be some sort of team think synergy that can unravel and maybe even somehow harness whatever Dark Side must power you.

Well, we can at least hope.

God's Speed to you, Voo. Blog on!

Love,
Bubba

You forgot one similarity....
Boston has the Green Monster
Manti has the Cold Water Monster!

I knew you'd enjoy this bloggin' thing. Do you find yourself lying in bed thinking of things to post?

I was glad to see Keith found your blog. I was afraid I was going to be the only follower!

Good God Ray. At least talk about some subjects that we are all interested in. Red Sox Nation is becoming like the Dallas Cowboys Americas Team. Like- how about the Chicago Bears, Oil Cans Love Tour, Newbies new knee, what Wally has for lunch, what the dinner special is at the bowling alley, who will be in charge of the Mormon Miracle Pageant this summer, what roads will be re-paved this year in Sanpete Cty. etc. Did you know Lance Armstrong is racing again for hells sake. These topics will make for some damn fine reading.Love the pics of the kids. This will be fun to comment on everything you write about. I'm proud of you for stepping up to the blog thing and totally exposing yourself to the world. Voo Doo Vern Lives!
