RED SOX 2009
After a long wait, a new season is upon us. The two months between the Super Bowl and opening day seem like two years. This coming Monday at 2:00 PM Eastern the Crimson Hose take on the American League champion Rays. Three teams have a shot at the American Leauge East ---- Boston, New York and Tampa Bay. Boston has the deepest pitching staff they have a great defense. Their hitting is solid throughout their line up. They don't use steroids, they floss after eating, and they have the best looking uniforms. Thus, I predict a first place finish in the East and ultimately a trip to the World Series for The Fenways.

Jane Russell in an unforgetable lusty role.
(Voo's editorial comment: There are only two reasons Jack would pick this movie --- and they both have to do with Jane Russell's chest.)

The other night I was cleaning out my Rolex watch with gun cleaning oil. Spike was watching reruns of Newhart. The phone rang. It was a guy I used to know when I was a bare back rider on the Wyoming rodeo circut. He said, "Voo, why do you hate the NBA?" My answer was quick and to the point. "It's the damn uniform shorts they wear now days."
In the pictures below you will notice that the NBA players look like clowns in their big baggy pants. How did it ever evolve to this point?

Even Oil Can's golf outfit looks better than this!

Jeff is pictured above with his wife and precious in-laws.
Jeff is a voracious reader and one of the few intellects in the family. He and his wife, Shellie AKA The Cat Woman, live in Seattle but make frequent visits to Utah. His hobbies are photography, writing, and reading, reading, reading. He also loves to ride bikes and triathon competitions. He almost got my son-in-law killed in downtown Seattle traffic. He is a world traveler and at one time or another has been lost in every country in Europe. We look forward to seeing him on the 4th of July.
Below is featured Jeff's seven favorite war movies.

Pictured above, far right is my sister, Joanne, when she tried out to be a square dancer on the Sanpete version of the Grand Ole Opry. She was a perfectionist on the "allemande left" but could never quite master the "DoSaDo".
Pictured above, second from right, is my sister, Joyce, at stewardess school. She had the job nailed and was ready to go to work for TWA when she tragically discovered she was allergic to packaged peanuts.

COSTANZA AND CATS
By Spike
Some things are creepy
Like spiders and bats,
And men over forty
Who still play with cats.
Costanza, Costanza,
One time you were cool,
Now your fetish for felines
Defines you a fool.
Costanza don't think
That I'm being bitter,
But your once brilliant brain
Is full of cat litter.
If you know what is right,
If you are red, white, and blue,
You'll feed all your cats,
To the bears in the zoo.
Poem #2
Global Warming
by Al Gore
You might think that cats
Are precious and charming,
However, cat hair
Will cause global warming.

Spike's Favorite Things
AKA
A Tribute to Julie Andrews
... by Spike
Frisbies and donuts and long feathered pheasants,
My head out the window on trips to Mt. Pleasant,
Mallards and pintails with one broken wing,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Digging up gardens and wading in pools,
Scaring the mailman and hiding Voo's tools,
Howling and barking when Marie Osmond sings
These are a few of my favorite things.
Napping by fires and begging for tidbits,
Scratching and yawning and giving the cat fits,
Sitting in lounge chairs and acting as King
These are a few of my favorite things.
Trips to the cabin and nights under bright stars,
Chasing the Schwan man and peeing on parked cars,
Waking up Zoobie when the phone starts to ring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Shaking off water and chewing up rag dolls,
Ready to rumble when Oil Can's cell calls,
Eating soft ice cream 'tl my head starts to sting,
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the food's gone, when it's bath time
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember when Boot's lost his nuts
And then I don't feel so bad.
